  • What is Slide-Lock Technology?
Slide-Lock Technology™ is a highly innovative, patent pending, guitar strap locking system. It's an all-in-one design which allows guitarists to secure their guitars simply and easily. At the heart of system lies a mechanism of elegant engineering. It consists of a spring-loaded retractable lock and thumb-button. Its design also allows it to capture a variety of different sized guitar end-pins, including some of the largest. And because of the special materials used in its construction, the whole locking system is super tough, allowing it to be bent and twisted and return to full operation.

  • How does it work?
Inside the mechanism are simple but unique parts. Together, they make up a locking system that is extremely flat, flexible and effective! That system is embedded in-between leather, creating an extremely slim and guitar-friendly package.

One of the things that make this happen is a specially designed spring. This spring ensures the lock will always remain in the compressed and locked position. Owing to its special shape, it too can be bent and twisted out of shape, and return to full functionality. Also, the spring's material ensures against rust and corrosion, which could rob it of its smooth operation. The spring is also engineered for high durability and long extended life.

Next is the slide-lock. It's made from a very tough material as well - an engineering plastic alloy. This assures that it can be bent, flexed and twisted and still remain working. Both the spring and the slide-lock are housed in a specially designed "sleeve." This "sleeve" is made from a very unique material which gives it flexibility, durability and natural lubricity. It's extremely abrasion resistant allowing the other parts to operate smoothly. It too, can be bent and return to normal operation.

The Lock-it® system isn't solely or necessarily dependant upon strong spring force to capture the guitar's hardware. The way it works is by always having the slide-lock covering (or hiding) the opening in the strap. So, even if the guitar moves up or down in the strap, the slide-lock follows the hardware. In the patent, this is called "tracking." It makes it almost impossible for the guitar to fall out. The only way out, is of course, by intentionally retracting the lock.

  • What else makes it work so well?
While playing, and while the system is attached to the guitar's end-pin, further bending of it helps restrain the lock from any further movement. This is important so it won't unintentionally unlock. This has been likened to a novelty "finger catch." The harder you pull on it, the tighter it grips!

  • Other Features?
We've made sure that the locking mechanism and the leather ends are assembled into one strong and flexible unit. One of the ways we do this is by precisely sewing the mechanism into place. If you look, you'll notice double stitching at the point where the greatest wear could occur - the point that holds up the guitar! There are also high pressure loads there while the guitar is swinging in play. The double sewing is through two layers of leather and two layers of "sleeve" material. This is the area where ordinary straps give out first - no other strap offers this feature.

The fact that the locks are embedded in the leather means they'll be easy on the guitar's finish. Is this important? We think your guitar will think so.
